This site is of course all my own work. Have a look around, and let me know what you think.

Appliki empowers students interested in attending college and equips adults eager to help.

I coded this site for Jeraul Mackey of Appliki. Design was done by Mike Fretto of silentcitizen.com.

AWT had a website that they bought as a pre-made template. Their content outgrew the design so they split some subjects to a separate site. When they started to outgrow the second site, they hired me to recombine the two sites with a design refresh, and add a content management system (WordPress) so that they can easily edit their site and have plenty of flexibility to add and remove pages without digging into the code.

WebAssign is the leading provider of powerful online instructional tools for faculty and students. In brief, instructors create assignments online within WebAssign and electronically transmit them to their class. Students enter their answers online, and WebAssign automatically grades the assignment and gives students instant feedback on their performance.

I worked at WebAssign full time for 4 years before moving on to freelance work. Here's a few notable projects out of many.

As one of my main responsibilities, I was in charge of the marketing and support website (most of what is outside of the login). It started as a collection of static html. Transitioned to a perl based templating system. Later it was moved to a full CMS system (Movable Type) including the implementation of a full redesign.

  • Webassign Checkout Page

Implemented rewrite of payment system using PayPal API

  • WebAssign final home page

Created a system to automatically determine the difficulty of a question based on previous student responses. Rankings updated in real time as students answered the question.
